OOTD – Tartan Midi

-1I really love the Granny Chic trend that has been happening lately. The midi length is just so feminine and flattering. This skirt is made from a lovely thick tartan fabric, but when I saw it in the store, it was that horrible length. You know what i mean. Not to the floor, but nowhere near the knee. It was not a pretty picture. But the thick fabric, adorable pockets and pleating won me over. All i had to do was lop off a few inches, and re-hem the skirt. Voila! A lovely chic skirt, which no one else owns, of which i will wear throughout winter quite happily.

So ladies, the lesson here is to think outside the box. look at the potential of clothing. A little nip and sew here and there can made a whole outfit pop.

Also, wearing the man shirt is very on trend right now. Which I like. It gives a clean crisp look to an outfit But ladies, its good to put your own slant on your man’s shirt. Don’t button it all the way up – maybe show a bit of cleavage, and DO roll up the sleeves and scrunch the sleeves up your arm. You will be glad you did – it is oh so chic.

Make your outfit your own.
